SIGLA is a consulting company specialized in energy projects and surveys, founded in 1977 with more than 40 years of experience in Latin America. It provides high added value services to regulatory institutions, multilateral financial institutions, investors as well as private and public companies in Latin America and the Caribbean having successfully complied with 400 projects since its creation. It counts with some highly qualified staff and large experience in consulting assignments in the energy sector. The Company has expanded its capacities outsourcing resources in some specific specialities and joining strategic partners.

By the late 80’s, the Company was part of a professional consulting group in charge of standardizing methods for planning and designing power distribution systems in Argentina by means of the “Engineering Project for Distribution Systems” financed by the World Bank and was part of the consortium of consultants responsible for the design and inspection of worksites for the 500 kV transmission system associated to the Yacyretá Hydroelectric Central, financed by the IDB.

From the transformation and privatization of the Argentine power sector which started in 1992, SIGLA became one of the leading consultants for the technical, economic and regulatory aspects of said processes. It was part of the Consortium which advised the national government regarding the restructuring and privatization of the high-voltage transport system and the banks hired by the Province of Buenos Aires to segment and privatize ESEBA.

In 1994 SIGLA started to operate outside Argentina, providing consultancy services to Compañía Nacional de Fuerza y Luz de Costa Rica (CNFL) for the planning and design of the underground distribution nets in the city of San José (1994).

In the private sector, the Company provided advise to investors, banks and other participants of the Wholesale Power Market (MEM) in Argentina.

In 1998, SIGLA started to act in the transmission and distribution tariffs market in Argentina and then continued to do so in the rest of Latin America.

Since 2004, SIGLA has been giving advice to the Energy Agency in projects and inspections for the national 500 kV interconnection works. Additionally, in 2014 SIGLA was hired by the Transport Agency for the Inspection of Civil Works and Catenary for the electrification of the “Roca” Railway Line.

All through its history, SIGLA has specialized in providing advice to clients in the different aspects of planning, regulations, restructuring, power tariff surveys and engineering works for transmission and distribution, including work site inspections. SIGLA classifies its services in eight main business lines:
