FEASIBILITY FOR THE FOURTH HIGH VOLTAGE LINE IN THE BUENOS AIRES-COMAHUE CORRIDOR

Outline:

SIGLA and Mercados Energéticos S.A., carried out the feasibility studies and the economic assessment for the expansion of the 500 kV Buenos Aires-Comahue Corridor with a new circuit (1300 km) to avoid the transport restrictions between the region with the highest hydrothermal generation and the corresponding load center.

Tasks carried out by SIGLA included:

  • Development of HV alternatives, including options for closure and solutions in DC/AC.
  • Electric and economic studies to select the most favorable routing.
  • Modeling of medium and long term dispatches with and without the transport expansion.
  • Identification of the expansion beneficiaries.
  • Quantating of resulting benefits and determination of their source.
  • Calculating the works budget and the annual cannon.
  • Participation of beneficiaries in the cannon.
  • Aggregate and individual economic appraisal of beneficiaries.
  • Presentation at the Public Hearing called by the Electricity Regulatory Body on behalf of principals (Comitentes).
